The Memory Keeper's Daughter
The Memory Keeper's Daughter
went with lm my sec best fren to kino @ orchard tdy. there were a few newly released bks on display. some were reali q interesting like [A Million Little Pieces] by James Frey. [The Memory Keeper's Daughter] by Kim Edwards caught my eye real soon. The summary at the back of the paperbk goes like this : "This stunning novel begins on a winter night in 1964, when a blizzard forces Dr. David Henry to deliver his own twins. His son, born first, is perfectly healthy, but the doctor immediately recognizes that his daughter has Down syndrome. For motives he tells himself are good, he makes a split-second decision that will haunt all their lives forever. He asks his nurse, Caroline, to take the baby away to an institution. Instead, she disappears into another city to raise the child as her own. Complusively readable and deeply moving. The Memory Keeper's Daughter is a brilliantly crafted story of parallel lives, familial secrets, and the redemptive power of love."
I was intendin to buy a book journal with the fiction bk but alas, my e-card cant work la. The kino merchant cant call thru the overseas master card co & so i can only afford to buy the fiction bk. But it's reali ok. I mean it. Cuz ltr i went to taka St. Leaven bakery & bot a milk toast with fine sugar spread ard that is simply delicious. haha. U all gotta try this. it's reali nicee!
Hav been much happier tdy den sunday & mon. Cuz i've learnt to smile (:
