Sweden
Sweden

Arrived Sweden in the early morning 'round 7am. Had our bf on board Silja. Toured ard the old & new town of Stockholm by coach. City sightseeing is only 3hrs with the local guide cuz the EU says they can only work 3hrs/day. Easy huh. Their driver works 12hrs/day. And they can earn lotsa tips frm tourists like us. Euro 2 for drivers & 3 for guides. Fat money. On acc of the high costs of living, forgive them & it's not like we'll be going there frequently, maybe only once/twice in a lifetime. Even if you're on free & ez, it's not any cheaper than joining tour cuz food & transportation is ex. Everything is ex.

Ok, now apart, we SAW (not visit) the royal palace, parliament etc, all we can do is take pictures cuz it wont costs you a cent. But we really went into the City Hall, where the Noble banquet is being held every yr. Yeah, Sweden is Alfred Noble's hometown. He's a Swedish. The country has been promoting lotsa science work these yrs. The place is very grand. The local guide said, when the banquet is being held, 200 waiters & waitresses would be carrying the dishes frm the 2nd floor down to the 1st. Wish I were there to witness. The souvenirs they sell at the city hall is very exquisite. You've got to choose carefully what you think is worthwhile cuz the pr really matters.

We've got many free time to explore the town ourselves thanks to the guide only working 3hrs/day. Went inside the Sweden bookshop which is just opp the Royal Palace. This is really a Sweden bookshop. You'll find books, souvenirs, some sweets all abt Sweden here. They only hav what's created in Sweden in their store. Nono to those which're not made in Sweden. This store is practically meant for tourists only.

NK dept store is just like many other stores. It just places many many high-end brands all in one store, nth unique or much to see. The weather was damn hot. So many ppl walking on the streets & inside the stores. And they're shopping like mad for clothes. Many brands they had are not av in S'pore so too bad. Hoho but I managed to buy 2pants frm Topshop which are really bargains. Buy 1 get 1 free! There's this sale item corner & most of the items are half-pr or even more! Choose 2sale items & pay for the pr of 1 which has a higher pr. It's ard SGD 38 for 1pant. S'pore also has it, just found out ytd that it costs $73/pant even aft a 30% disc. Hoho. I rmb I was so tired aft buying the 2pants cuz I spent 1hr simply at Topshop doing nth but to & fro the dressing rm, lol. Went to Mac for a break, thot it's FOC for the toilet but hell no, 5 SEK. What a disappointment! To add on, even shopping centres charge you for toilets. Luckily most attractions are FOC.
Oh ya, lotsa celebrations on the streets cuz the nxt day, 6th June is Sweden's national day! Those teenagers are like siao, opening bottles of beer & splashing them ard. They just kp on dancing on the trucks or in the cars. What a scene!
We went to the Food Fair too. The guide told us it's held once a yr during summer. All these Europe countries hav many activities whn it comes to summer and they certainly enjoy the sun. So scorching hot yet these ang mohs fancy sitting under the sun & still look like they're enjoying the food. Everything is ex including the ice-cream but we've got no choice cuz the weather's too hot to endure. Sometimes, we lost our instinct of being calculative halfway thru the trip, in becoming so, we became too generous in S'pore. Luckily it wasnt hard to return back to my normal self. Still it makes me feel fortunate to live in S'pore cuz the tax in Europe is 25%. However if u wana buy clothes cosmetics chocos etc, it's still cheaper there cuz imported goods in S'pore is still ex. The chocos for eg is nicer & cheaper there & more brands av for fashion items. Vero Moda, H&M...
Coming nxt...Norway, the country I love most.
